Happy Birthday to Casey

Happy Birthday to Casey, my first son. 24 years old as of yesterday!! Hello to Ben of Asotin!
Dinner for my veggie son: Eggplant Parmesan with a mozzarella circle on a kaiser roll with sauteed crimini mushrooms. Side of sauteed Brussels sprouts with garlic and fresh pineapple. Side of fresh pineapple. This was fun and yummy. Garlic came from my friend Lynda up in Colville who grows several varieties as a small commercial venture. She sells to bigger growers who buy her stuff for seedstock. I can tell you, it's very good to cook with, she knows her garlic.

Wally my wonderdog is whining for attention. I believe that he may be a reindeer in disguise. One year on Christmas eve, he will disappear and magically reappear on Christmas day. Why, you may wonder, do I think that he is a reindeer? Well, he is the color of a reindeer, he leaps like a reindeer, he has a happy reindeer face and he seems to have Santa's twinkle in his eyes! So, like Linus in the pumpkin patch, I will be waiting for my little reindeer to fly away some Christmas. I wonder if he will tell me about adventures.

My other dog is Kinsey, a miniature dachshund. Very miniature. Very queen-like. A big pain for a little yappie dog. But she is our little baby. Never thought we'd like a small dog, but they kind of wiener their way into you hearts. It's a wienerland here.

Well, enough of this stuff. I'll do some research to spiff up this blog. Can't wait to put a picture or two up, and put some great links to peek at.

Don't forget to post your comments! I can't wait to hear from you.

Lovely to spend time with you,

MarlaJean

Today!

Today I got a lot of work done. Programming is my life right now, and sometimes it doesn't come easy!

I got a gift from a friend of a car wash coupon. So at lunch I went through the Mister Car Wash. I forgot how much fun that can be!! I ducked my head and giggled as the big blue washer strips went over my car and enveloped it in darkness. I turned up the radio and wished I had someone to smooch. If you haven't been through an automated car wash lately, you should go do it! First thing next year.

My buddy at work, Denise is doing great work with her "forms conversion", she is smokin'! Sometimes literally, gotta work on dumping that habit this next year, Ms. D.

Please pray or meditate or send good vibes out to Patty Keinath, who has cancer. Also, my sister Margaret, and my Dad Teles. Cancer also. I think cancer is actually a cancer of the environmnent showing symptoms on people who use its resources. Innocent people, mostly. Seems like if life was fair, only the "bad" people would get cancer, but it seems like the better you are, the more likely you are to get it. I'm still going to try to do good stuff. Whilst you are praying add my mom to the list. She really needs help.

So another year has come and gone. One more wrinkle, a bit more wiser.

If you have any New Year's Resolutions to share, I'd be happy to post them. Then you too could be famous. Just like me. In my mind. Whatever's left of it.

See ya later, gator!!

The "Mr. Fix-it" update

Hey, I posted that link to www.fixitnow.com. My amazing Mr. Fix-it just got home from a problem at a rental house and fixed the gas range using directions from a posting from www.fixitnow.com . Don't forget to pay for beer if you use it, but it's great.

Welcome to MarlaJean's Blog

Howdy! Here is me. MarlaJean. My favorite thing about me is that I'm a young Grandma. I work in the IT field and I travel around Eastern Washington to smallish counties, kindof like an IT Faerie. I hover in a middle-sized city and love the staff that I support locally, but really enjoy getting out to the hinter-lands for on-site visits. The people "outside" are really great to meet and work with and sometimes play with after-hours. These smaller towns have different after-hours stuff, and I will comment on them at times. I can tell you which hotel has good beds and government rates, and where NOT to eat. Eating alone is weird in restaurants, sometimes I grab a salad and read. Now I can grab a salad and BLOG.

Washington, the STATE, is a great place, and eastern Washington in particular. In the span of a 2 hours drive you can go from high mountains, lakes to deserts, and back! It's a great place to live and visit.

Family: From time to time I will give you updates on my family. Right now my Mom, Dad and Sister are very ill. It's pretty odd having 2 with cancer and one with varied diseases from smoking and drinking. We never had cancer before and this last 6 months has been quite the shocker. My twin sister has breast cancer and we will go through that together. Whoopee!

I also have 6 or so kids. All grown with young-adult stuff to chat about.

So, this is it, just to see how it launches. I'll try a link to the American Cancer Society for a test, but I may get rid of that.

Today, we went to www.fixitnow.com which was way cool with easy instructions to fix appliances and household stuffs. The fixit Samauri works for beer, so please donate if you use it.

Ta ta for now deery.
